Families,
Here is a more detailed schedule for the week and what to work on and when. This is just a guide to spread out the work. If you choose to do more, that is fine. I will be posting You Tube videos on Google Classroom throughout the week on a variety of things. Please be sure to check in each day. This will help me with attendance as well. When we know more about the paper pick up date and location, please return the work that was sent home before spring break. Until then HANG ONTO IT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. It was in a yellow construction paper folder. This first week will be trial and error. Please do not let this get you worked up ( as it has for me!!!). We will figure this out and look forward to the day we get back to the building!!

Have a great week and lets do this!!!

Here we go.....

Families,
Well break is just about over so that means we are getting ready to LEARN!!!! We will not be in the classroom for some time, so please be sure to check the newsletter and google classroom for assignments that will be required.  I will try and keep up with announcements on Seesaw and google. Also, if you find that online work is not the best for your child, I will be more than happy to make paper copies for you!!

I have attached a quick video...the yelling in the background is my Dakota video games...that will need to change soon :)

Take care and see you Monday!!!

Checking in

Happy Sunday Afternoon!!
I just wanted to check in with everyone to see how you are all doing. I was very overwhelmed last week, and I still am, but each day gets a little better!! Well this will be a spring break to put in the books for sure!! In the event of distance learning, we/I will offer a couple of ways to provide instruction. I have Google Classroom set up and some of you have checked in. Thank you for doing that!! Many have not. Please try and look at my classroom page and do the check in assignment. Besides google classroom, I will be sending paper copies home for those that prefer that route. Just let me know, you can certainly get both if you like. At some point I will need to teach new lessons and that will entail me videoing or you tube new lessons. We have been trying ZOOM here at school and that works pretty slick. If you as parents would be willing to give it a try, we could have the whole class meeting!! How fun would that be?? It seems like we have been gone for so long all ready.

Again, if you have not checked google classroom yet, please do so. If I hear anything new, i will be sure to reach out to all of you and I hope you reach out to me as well!!!

Have a great week and I will talk to you soon!!!!

Strange Days!!

Families,
Just a reminder that the work sent home on Monday is what is expected to be done this week. I will be collecting it on Monday, Mar. 30 when the students return from break.  It has been very quiet around here and I do not like it!! I hope you are all staying healthy and being safe. I miss everyone!!!

See you soon!

Internet

COVID 19

Families,
You may have heard that school will close from Mar.18-27. We will have distant learning in place for our students. My class is set up for google classroom. Your child has an email address they can use to have access to this platform. I will be sharing this with the class on Monday how to get to this platform and what will be expected from them. This is at a terrible time as we are trying to prepare for MCA's. Keeping everyone healthy as well!!! It is very important that you work with your child during this time and help prepare them as much as possible! The Reading and Math packets that were sent home are required to be done. I will be sending home hard copies of activities your child can do at home if you do not have access to internet. I will be available during this time via email or you can call into my classroom. I just did call into my room to make sure the message recording worked. It does, but it says you have used an invalid extension. Just enter it again, 149. It will go to my voice mail. I will be checking both email and phone messages to check in and if you have any questions. My classroom phone is 320-963-3024 x149. Not the best of times, but working together through this will be imperative. Please be mindful if you go out and about, I really want my families to stay healthy! I will have a lot to share with the class Monday. Stay tuned!!

No School Next week

Families,
We are going all out in Reading this week. Reviewing as much as possible so we are strong with our strategies when we come back from break. Please make sure your child gets a good nights rest. We will provide breakfast for all students those two days. Please work on your projects for Social St. and Science. Spelling this week will focus on (sh) using ci, si, and ti. When we are not reviewing reading skills, we are reviewing Math!! It is getting messy on the playground. Make sure your child has extra clothes at school just in case!! Everything will go home before break to get washed!!!
Have a great week and an awesome break!!!

Families,
Review continues!! Last week your child brought home a Reading packet, please do a little each night. These cover the main parts of Reading we have learned this year. Try to keep it all fresh! Math is a lot of review as well. Next week the math packet will go home, same thing, a little at a time!! Report cards are ready and will be in the Wed. envelope. You have 2 projects coming up for Social Studies and Science. Be sure to get the Social Studies one done first. Then start on the Science project. There is plenty of time, just space it out accordingly. Enjoy the warmer temps!!! Have a great week!!!  Don't forget the Parade is this weekend!!!!!!

Families,
Can you believe it is March already?? I think every year goes faster than the one before...how can that be possible? Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the weekend!! With melting snow, the playground will be messy. Please make sure you have extra clothes at school for your child to change into if need be. What a fun I Love to Read month we had!! I do hope the reading continues the rest of their lives!! This week is back to normal. Spelling, Reading Comprehension along with Science and Social Studies. We are hitting math and reading review heavy this month. When we return from Spring Break we are taking the Reading test that week. Watch for  review packs to come home. Please work on these a little at a time. We learn a lot during the year and it can be a challenge to remember it all. This is to refresh what we have learned. Yes MCA testing is important, but please try not to make this a stressful time. I believe I mentioned report cards would be going home this week, it will actually be next week. The second trimester was done on Friday, we have this week to get grades to the office and then printed. We have gone to online grading and last trimester there were a few hiccups so we are allowing some "fix it" time. So on that note, have a great week and enjoy the weather change!!
