Rock Star Behavior!!

My whole class is Rock Stars, but this message is for the 3rd graders in Ms. Hagen's class and my class for Music...

Tomorrow March 24th!!!!

Wear your PJ's and bring a blanket, pillow, and favorite stuffed animal (if you like) in a plastic garbage bag (hygiene). The students will be viewing a short music video for making their goal in behavior during music class.
If you wear pj's, please make sure they are school appropriate ( no spaghetti straps etc.) bring warm clothes for recess also!!

Have fun and way to go 3rd grade!!!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It was nice to see all the families that came out for Family Engineering Night!! It looked like they had fun!!! Congratulations to the prize winners!
I hope you all have a great Spring Break!!!
Spelling for grade 2 will focus on comparatives with -er, and -est endings. Grade 3 spelling will focus on final -y, -ye, and-ie.

Spelling gr 2~ round~rounder, smooth~smoother, light~lighter, funny~funniest, early~earliest, pretty~prettiest, big~bigger, sad~sadder, hot~hottest

Spelling gr 3~ money, hockey, goalie, movie, apply, occupy, classify, twenty (cursive and print)

Math for grade 2 will begin Topic 13 Measuring and 3 will finish Topic 12 with a test sometime this week. It is taking us a little longer to get through this Topic.

Science this week will cover weather.

Read it and experience it. Connect what your child reads with what happens in life. If reading a book about animals, relate it to your last trip to the zoo.

I hope everyone had a chance to get out and participate in some of the weekend activities in town this weekend!! Nice weather for all!! 
Family Engineering Night is Tuesday, March 17th at 6:00. Please dress up as a scientist...door prizes will be awarded!!!

Math for grades 2 and 3 will finish Topic 12 with a test on Thursday.

Say how much you enjoy reading. Tell your child how much you enjoy reading with him or her. Talk about “story time” as the favorite part of your day.

This week grade 2 spelling will be -ed, and -ing endings. Grade 3 will focus on -er,-ar, and -or syllables. Math will begin Topic 12 ~Fractions for both grade 2 and 3. Social Studies will begin  discussing Economics.

Cartoon Drawings

Today our class met Gary Harbo, author and illustrator. He showed the students how to draw cartoon characters. They did awesome!!
