The students did a great job of taking their time on the reading MCA test last week. They all feel pretty confident they did well. As always, results will be sent in the fall with the new school year mailings. This week we are getting back to academics, not reviewing. We will be working on more grammar pieces, sentences, and starting our next writing topic Descriptive writing. Next Wed. and Thurs. will be math MCA. No school Friday (4-18 or Monday 4-21). Enjoy the long weekend!!

In like a lamb, out like a lamb??? I guess living in MN we need to be ready for anything!! This should be a normal week (whatever normal might be). Spring break starts next week Class will resume Mar. 31. We will continue with review and testing tips. I will no longer be using the student planner for the remainder of the year. Next year the students do not get one, so I use this time getting them used to being responsible without their planner. If something major is coming up, I will send out an email. Please be sure I have your email address and that it is current. If you are getting my newsletter via email, you should be good to go. This week we will finish up our Nike persuasive essay, write our D.A.R.E. essay for graduation (Mar. 14th.), and review inferencing, Have a great week!

Well, I would like to say this is going to be a regular week but I can't. We have a fun day planned on Friday!!! Our ILTRM is coming to an end, we have a movie planned. Be sure to return the permission slip for the movie otherwise your child will not be allowed to watch. Friday is the last day of second trimester. That being said, we will be doing a lot of review during March. MCA testing for gr 6 Reading is Apr. 2-3. Math is Apr. 16-17!!! Please try to make sure your child is in school as much as possible. Spring break is the week of Mar. 24-281 Yearbook order forms due Feb. 281. This weeks studies will cover...Persuasive essay and wrap up our tin book report.  Have a great week!!!

Thank you to those that are reading each night as a family. This is our goal for I Love To Read Month, trying to get some family reading time!! February is I Love to Read Month. Watch for different activities happening throughout the week/month!, Be sure to read one chapter each night from Winter According to Humphrey. Wear something a snowperson would wear in the winter on Friday!!! The students did an awesome job selling pizza!!! They met their goal!!! Thank you!!!!!Academics this week will cover Key ideas/Details, Sentences, and Black History Month. Thank you for coming in for your child's conference! Well, the cold weather has decided to make its presence known yet again. Mr. Ronnenberg will watch the temps as Thursday approaches. If it gets too cold, he will postpone for another time. PLEASE make sure your child has the appropriate outdoor clothing. Only two weeks of January left, that is crazy!! With that being said, I have a little over two months to get the majority of my curriculum in. If you plan on taking any extended vacations, please let me know so I can plan around those. My goal this week is to get textual evidence and vocabulary in.
