Thank you to those that sent in PTA basket items!! I think 6th grade had the best one, IMO.

This will be our last week having Ms. Harper in the classroom. She will spend the next couple weeks with Mr. Fuchs and the next 6 weeks in the HS. She has been a great student teacher and wish her continued success. As of Friday, Feb. 25 the school has not reached its reading goal. We are hoping that Monday the students will be able to turn in their Readopoly boards completed. The goal is 150 boards done. If we do not get 150 boards completed, we do not get to go tubing. Your money will be returned! We are all hoping to go!! Our class has 8 boards turned in right now. The draft schedule for MCA testing is April 7-8 for Reading and April 25-26 for Math. Please try to have your child here during that time.  This also means prep will be underway!! I feel we are in a good place, but have a few things to cover yet and review, review, review!! Have a wonderful week and hope for warmer temps.

The students did such a great job on Friday skiing!!! So much fun to watch them keep trying and trying. The big smiles on their faces when they had accomplishments!! We have had a few items come in for the Basket needed for PTA pizza and bingo night. Our theme is MN Sports teams. Keep working on those Readopoly boards. We don't have very many turned in yet.  Hope you had a nice, long weekend!!

What a great Battle of the Books event we had on Friday!! Congratulations to all the participants! We have a short week as we are gong skiing on Friday. Dress warm!!! Please be sure to study spelling each night!! Also, there is no school next Monday for President's Day. We will begin MCA prep very soon! It looks like we will be testing in April sometime. It is very important your child be at school every day to prepare for the test. I will let you know when the final date has been set.   Enjoy the long weekend!!!

Families,

Now that January is over, maybe we can get a little warmer?? Inside recess is no fun for any of us! February continues with I Love to Read Month activities. We have a guest reader Monday, Late Start Tuesday, and Battle of the Books Friday. Also, wear neon colors Friday!!! This half of the school year, we will now get Character Ed. each Friday!! For the next two weeks, please have your child fill out 3 Good Things form each night. Our goal is to try and start focusing on the good things in life.

Our class is lucky enough to have a student teacher for the next six weeks. Sara Harper will be taking over a little at a time. She is working towards her Teaching License and Special Education Certificate. Please welcome her if you see her out and about.  I have enjoyed listening to the students Memoirs. It allows me to see/hear what is close to their heart. I hope you had a good time fishing (if you went to the fishing derby)!! Have a great week!!
