I love to read month starts on Tuesday. Be sure to check the calendar each day for different events happening. To celebrate our reading goal (if we make it) is to go tubing at Powder Ridge! We are really hoping to get families involved this year. Please try to spend some time with your child/ren and read together. If you have any gently used books to donate, please send them with your child. We are going to have a book exchange Feb. 16th. Thank you for meeting with me and discussing your child's success at school. It is better to work as a team. If you were not able to make your conference, I am more than happy to set up a meeting that works for you and your schedule. Good luck to those of you that are participating in the fishing derby!!

Pretty exciting week!! We have the Spelling Bee and conferences!! I look forward to meeting with you again and discussing all the accomplishments your child is having!! If you are not able to make your conference for some reason, please call the office and they will send me a message. We can always reschedule it. Shoe box book reports will finish this week and then we will start the Memoir writing assignment. If you have not do so yet, please sit down with your child and help them pick a memory they would like to write about. Don't forget to send in your pizza order forms Monday!!! I hope you enjoyed the long weekend!!  Have a great week and I will see you either Tuesday or Thursday!

Powder Ridge

No School Teacher Workshop

Please be sure to sign up for your conference on Jan. 25th or 27th. You have access on parent portal to sign up yourself. Go soon so you get the time you want. We are watching the weather for Thursday. I am sure we will go if it is above 0. Make sure your child has warm enough outdoor gear! Holy Cow, it has been cold out!!! We always know its coming, but never get used to it. This week we have our NWEA Reading test. Again, it is only for a few students. Our next writing piece is a Memoir. Please take a few minutes and jot down some memories your child has many details about. We will work on this in the classroom. Also, bring in a shoebox as we are going to start on that project as well. Ski trip is Jan. 20. Your child should have, or will, take home a packet with several permission slips. Please fill out all the information and return to school noted on the first page.  I hope it isn't a freezing day!! Conferences are coming up Jan. 25 and 27. Look for an email from the school to sign up yourselves.  Have a great week!!

I hope you had a great break and some much needed family time!!! It will be nice to get back into a regular routine again. We have a full week of school this week!!! For a select few students, we will be having the NWEA Math test this week. Mr. Fuchs is putting his list together. If you want your child tested, email Ms. Malwitz or Mr. Fuchs and let us know.  Next week will be the reading portion.  With trimester one behind us, I am going to require the reading log each night. This is an expected piece of homework. I will hand out green slips if it is not completed each night. Three green turn into a yellow slip, three yellow turn into a red. Three red slips and the opportunity to go to Wolf Ridge is in jeopardy. I know things come up once in awhile, just write a note in the planner or have your child write their summary on a piece of paper and you can sign that.  Thank you for your support!  Reminder that the pizza fundraiser will be starting soon. Please do your best to sell pizzas. This helps keep the costs for Wolf Ridge down. Have a great week and welcome to 2022!!
