Families,

The students are doing great working hard!! The only area for improvement is following directions right away. I need to do several reminders. There is a tendency for sidebar talking when I give those directions. We are working on it! Reading Skills is working on Main Idea. Social Studies is learning about clouds and weather. Science will continue with Maps/Globes. Math has started estimating with rounding numbers to find the sum or difference. Book orders are due this week if you are interested in ordering any. In technology class we need to reset the students google passwords from last year. Please do not change them once this happens. Enjoy your weekend!!

Dear Families,

I hope our first spelling test goes well!! Please be sure to practice these words each night. I only get a few days to work on these with my class. We will also have our first Topic math test this week. I will be sending home a review paper to help them study. Reminder that I will go over math and reading NWEA scores at fall conferences. We have Wellness Wednesday coming next week. We wear comfy clothes to workout in after morning announcements. This will be on the last Wednesday of each month. Speaking of clothes, please be sure your child is dressed for the weather. Some days are warm, some are pretty chilly!! You may want to send an extra set of clothes to school just incase they get wet at recess or spill at lunch. We are very limited on our visits to the nurse this year. No one wants to sit in wet clothes all day! If you are out this weekend running errands, please look for a couple composition notebooks. We will be starting writers workshop and these are perfect for that subject. Wide ruled if you can find it (if not any line size will work).  Thank you and have a great weekend!!

Dear Families,

We are off to a great start!!! The students are showing their Irish Expectations every day!! We will continue to work on these all throughout the year. We are going to start switching classes every Monday, Wednesday,  and Thursday for Social Studies, Science, and Reading Skills. We will begin regular math this week as well. After the NWEA tests, we will look at the scores and during conferences I will go over test results and answer any questions you may have at that time. If you have questions now, please call me or send a note. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have concerning anything here at MLE. I will always have a hard copy of my newsletter in your child's mailbox every Monday. The spelling list will be printed on the back side as well. If you would like to receive my blog/newsletter by email, fill out the BLOG form (from open house) and return it to school. I can sign you up using the email address you provided, or you can sign up on your own. Make sure you check your email for the feedburner confirmation email otherwise you are not completely signed up.

Dear Families,

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend!! I did ! You will see this week we have late start on Tuesday, so, that means we begin 2 hours later than usual. Also, this week we are not starting our rotations quite yet. There will be a quick introduction on Friday for the students. If you have not signed up yet for my BLOG, please do so. You will get my weekly newsletter sent to your email. This helps you to stay informed on what is happening in our classroom. Be sure to check for the Feedburner confirmation!!! Planners have started. Please make sure to initial it each night!! I will be going over our Reading Log this week, so watch for that to begin. I would recommend sending a water bottle to school with your child. We are not using the drinking fountains this year, we all get thirsty wearing masks and I don't want anyone getting headaches because they are dehydrated. We are off to a great start and I hope your child has enjoyed class so far!! If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know so I can address them!!  Have a great week!!
