This week wraps up Trimester 2! Report cards will be going home next week. Science projects are due Tuesday!! Our last event for ILTR month is a movie (Rango) and bingo on Friday!! Spelling this week will cover "qu" words. Reading skills is learning about Tall Tales. Social St. will continue with Immigrants/Pioneers. Science will start sharing projects. A quick review in math on solids, translation, rotation, and reflection. Have a great week!!

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! We had a busy day Friday with the Battle of the Books and Valentine's Day. The 100th day was last week as well!! The kids look a little silly being 100 years old (pictures will be sent home sometime this week). 

In Math class we are finishing the last few lessons with area and perimeter. Solids will be up next. No spelling or Reading Comprehension this week. Reading Skills will cover Fairy Tales. Science will continue with Simple Machines. Social St. is covering Immigrants/Pioneers. If you are interested in ordering a book Wed. be sure to send in the order form!

We are beginning our review sessions for the MCA test. We take the first test as soon as we get back from Spring Break!!! Reading will be first. This week Reading skills will cover Draw Conclusions. Science will continue with Simple Machines. Social St. is covering Immigrants/Pioneers. Late start this week, wear Irish on Tuesday. Bring in any Box Tops you may have saved up. Friday is the Battle of the Books. We start at 1:20 in the HS auditorium. If you plan to join us, please be sure to sign in at the Elem. office first. We will also do a Valentine exchange sometime during Friday. If you chose to participate, please be sure you have one for everybody in the class. A class list was sent home on Friday (back side of the yellow paper). That's all for now...have a great week!!!

February is Reading Fun Month. Please check your calendar each day to see what is happening in school. This Wed. we will have a guest reader come in and read to each grade level. This book will be available for purchase and signed by the author! We have our Battle of the Books next Friday. Have your child review their book notes and freshen up on each story. This week in Science the students are learning about Simple Machines. Social St. is finishing Voyageurs and Fur Trade. Reading Skills is going over Inferencing. Spelling is the rule of -y inflected ending (ing, ed, s or es). Character Ed. is done for the year. We will have D.A.R.E. starting in March.
