Students check in from 10-11 a.m.

 Families,

Thank you for your patience as we wrap up our remote learning plan. Please be sure to have your child return all folders, planner, notebooks, and electronic device to school on Monday. The device needs to be fully charged, please. We will have class as usual this week with the exception of Friday. This is an independent learning day. Any paper work that your child may have done during remote learning can be returned as well. I will continue to use their device in the classroom to help with those apps that have glitches yet. Two days of class next week. When we return after break, classes will be full remote for all students. Devices will go home with students at break time. If you have any questions about the return to school plan, you may contact Mr. Sawatzke or Superintendent Rowe. Thank you for keeping me informed when your child may not be able to check in. I appreciate the communication! Have a great week and I am excited to see the kids in school again!! For those at home, I am excited to see you on the screen again :)

 Families,

I hope your week went well! There are still a few hiccups with the Chromebook, but nothing we can't deal with. There will not be late start this week. Our week will look the same as last weeks schedule. Our Language Arts time slot will have Grammar posted, Prepositions. We have an assignment each day for that subject. The most important items to be aware of would be for the students to check their email everyday and google classroom for assignments due. We still have some distractions while on google meet, please remind your child to make choices as if they were in the classroom. Lets hope this is the last week of distance learning. Have a great week and be sure to reach out if you have any questions! Also, please check your email for a survey coming from me. It will be anonymous so be honest with the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Thank you!!

Families,
I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and enjoyed the weather! These next two weeks will look a little different than our typical classroom schedule. We are trying to keep the screen time down, but still provide adequate academics. On my website, which you can find on our district web page, you will find all the information you will need. The students will go to Google Classroom for all their assignments. Please be sure to have them check their school email daily.

The end of Trimester one was Friday. Report cards will be sent to you electronically some time this week. If you have any questions, please reach out!

Families,

You will see we have no class on Friday. Superintendent Rowe sent out a message to families about our calendar change for the next couple weeks. If you did not get his message, please contact the office at 320-963-3024 and let them know. During this pandemic time it is important we have your contact information to stay in touch. Thank you for your patience and support this year!!

Is the snow here to stay?? That being said, please make sure your child has outside gear. I see several students without mittens or gloves. Our learning focus for this week is Summarizing in Reading Skills. Math is going to continue with Division. Science is talking about the body system. Social St. is continuing with the same topic. Enjoy the long weekend!

Families,
Well how about that for a quick weather change. I had to laugh...last week a little girl came to school in the morning wearing a sundress carrying her winter coat. This weather is so confusing!! Reminder, we have Late Start Tuesday, class begins at 10:00.  Wednesday is Veteran's Day.  Thank you to those that have and currently serve our Country!! This is Homecoming Week...due to circumstances, the game has been called off. As I write this blog, I am not sure if the dress up days will continue or not. If I get an update, I will let you all know the plan. Right now it is.....Monday wear Red (gr 4 class color), Wednesday Irish Spirit, Friday PJ'S!!
I hope you all had a great weekend!!

Families,

Well hello snow!! As I have mentioned before, the weather can be all over the place. Please be sure your child is appropriately dressed and has warm clothes for outside. This week we will be studying Inferencing in Reading Skills, Maps in Soc. St. and Weather in Science. Math will cover multiplying with 10,100, & 1,000. We will have our fall celebration this Friday. I will have treats for the class. Normally 4th gr. does not wear costumes. If your child wants to wear something Halloween like, that would be fine. There will not be time for changing clothes. I only have a short amount of time this year :(. If you do go out this weekend, have fun and be safe!!

Families,
This is conference week. We are meeting virtually at your regular scheduled time. I will have a link sent to your email address. Check your spam/junk mail if you do not get my message. I will have all the paper work sent home I was going to go over with you. We can talk about concerns and celebrations. Now is also a great time for us to make a plan for your student and the rest of the year.  The book fair is online this year. Please make purchases through the ewallet or send money with your child. This will help the school raise money for different things. No spelling this week, but please keep reading each night!!!  Now that the temps are really playing games with us, make sure your student is dressed for the weather. Also, please send in extra clothes for those just in case moments!!! Have a great long weekend and I will see you at conferences, virtually!
