I would like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!  2019 was a great year and I hope 2020 is as well!!! Please stay healthy and safe over the winter break!!

Conferences are coming up at the end of Jan. Please return your conference request as soon as possible so I can get you in the time slot you prefer. Club's Choice pick up is Wed. in the HS cafeteria.

We are moving on to Topic 9 Lines, Angles, and Polygons.  Reading Skills will go over Compare and Contrast. Spelling will focus on Schwa + r (er, ear, ere). Social Studies will be presenting Winter Count! Please be prepared.

 Ok, the weather is starting to get chilly!! Please make sure your child has warm clothes to wear outside. We go out for recess everyday unless there is a below 0 temp./windchill!! 

     I am going to try a new form of communication with my classroom families. It is called Seesaw. I have the class set up and ready to go. Earlier I sent home a form that had a QR code on it. IF you misplaced yours, let me know and I can send a new one. This is a free phone app and you can access through your computer as well. I can send homework, reminders, celebrations, etc. to you via phone and/or computer!! I hope you will use this new platform as a way to stay current with school happenings. Plus it is safe and private for only my class to see!!!!

     This week in Math we will continue with Topic 8 ~ Division. The students are catching on to this strategy pretty well! Is it perfect yet? Not quite, but I am impressed with how quickly they are catching on!! Spelling is Schwa + R (er, ir, ur). Finishing renewable and nonrenewable resources, Quiz on Tuesday

     I would still recommend sending in an extra set of clothes to keep in their locker, maybe after break? We will do another locker clean out sometime before winter break. Look for a smaller pile of things to come home :)

Families,

Second trimester is underway!! We had a pretty good first trimester, I hope we can continue with the growth again!! Math will begin Topic 8 Division. I will be showing the students another way to divide called "The Forgiving Method". If you would like to see how it works, you can you tube "forgiving method" and watch the videos. We will work on this later in the unit!. 

We are going to Santa's Secret Shop on Dec.10th for shopping!!

With the cold weather and snow, I would recommend sending in warm jackets, hats, and mittens. Please talk to your child about wearing these when going out for recess, a lot of students feel like they will be "ok" without jackets, hats, and mittens. Not so much!!! Grade four is expected to dress for the weather!!! We will do a locker clean out/check again before break. Look for a pile of things to come home in the next couple of weeks:)
