Families,
Every morning when I do attendance on my computer, I see the kids' school picture from this fall. They look so young and it amazes me how much they grow over the year. Not only in height/facial features, but also academics, socially, and emotionally! What an amazing class I have!! This week we WILL have all five days (my dream anyway!). So here is what we will be working on...Math is starting Topic 13 ~ Decimals and Money. Science is continuing Earth and Planets. Social Studies is covering Economics. Spelling is going to focus on Unaccented Final Syllables -er, -ar, -or. Reading Skills will cover Main Idea and Sequencing. Be sure to add up the reading times on your calendar and return those on Thursday. It looks like the finale will be a trip to Maple Lake Bowling! More to come on that adventure!
Have a great week everyone!

Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! We celebrated the 100th Day on Friday. The kids look a little silly being 100 years old (pictures will be sent home sometime this week).
In Math class we are finishing the last few lessons and will have a test this week. We will start Topic 13 ~ Decimals and Money. Spelling is the rule of Unaccented Final Syllables -le, el, il, al. Reading Skills will cover Main Idea and Sequencing. Science is going over How the Earth Moves (day/night) and the Planets. Social Studies will cover President's Day and our Government.

Families,
Well, will we have a full week of school EVER??? Yes, snow days are fun and exciting, but this is getting to be too much! I believe we will have to make up some of these days. How many or when I do not know. I do hope it is between now and the beginning of May. We need classroom time to cover content for the MCA!! If you have any suggestions feel free to call Mr. Sawatzke, I am sure he would like to hear from you.
Subject areas remain the same...trying to finish them is key at this point!!
If you are joining us for the Battle of the Books, please be sure to sign in at the Elementary Office and take the ramp up to the HS auditorium. It should go until around 11:20 or so.
Thank you for making it to conferences!! I know it was not an ideal situation, but being flexible is sometimes necessary. Lets hope we make it all week! Have a good one!

Families,
Ok, that was a crazy week!!! Lets hope we do not get many "snow days" now!! We will have our Tuesday conferences this week. Same times as before. If it will not work for you, please let me know and we can reschedule. The book fair will be open on Tuesday as well. Spelling for this week will be long "U". Math is Fractions. Science will cover Weather (haha) and Social St. will begin Technology. February is our I Love To Read Month. A calendar was sent home Friday with a variety of activities happening. Please be sure to look it over and write in either picture books read or chapters read. Don't forget to do math practice as well. Book Swap is right around the corner. Look for those gently used books that you are ready to part with.
Have a great week and enjoy the temperature roller coaster ;)
