This is the last week of I Love to Read month. I sure hope we reach our reading goal. Tubing sounds like fun for all of us!!!

This week we are learning about Area and Perimeter in Math. Spelling is focusing on the rule of Silent Consonants t,g,w,k,h,and gh.

Wrapping up Simple machines in Science and Social Studies is starting Immigrants and Emigrants.

I have had several students without snack. Please check in with your child to see of they need a new supply.

March is here...that means MCA prep will begin. I have not heard of the official test date yet. We are hoping to have the testing later in April so we can practice a little more. As soon as I hear anything, I will let you know.

Reading FUN month continues this week. As in the past, there will be a book swap. Please bring in any "GENTLY" used books that you would like to trade in. The last day to bring books will be Thursday...book swap on Friday!! 

Be sure to write reading minutes on the pink calendar, gold reading log, and on the snowball. If the school meets the reading goal, we will go tubing at Powder Ridge!! The pink calendar will be turned in to Ms. Malwitz at the end of the month. Please do not lose it!! 

Yearbook orders are due Feb 28th along with your favorite book drawing. Calendars are due March 1st with times added up and parent signatures!!!

Be sure to read the calendar each day for activities that are happening!

This Tuesday, we are participating in Global Play Day. From 1-2:00 we are playing old school games in the classroom. Please bring a game to play. No electronics!!! At 2:05 we will meet with Irish Connections groups and decorate cookies, play games, and visit. It will be a fun day for us all!!!

We will continue with decimals in math this week. Spelling will focus on the rule of Unaccented initial syllables a-, de-, and be-.

Science will cover Simple Machines and Social Studies is covering Voyageurs.

I would like to thank all of you that made it to conferneces last week! It takes both of us to do what is best for these kiddos!!

I hope you enjoyed Battle of the Books!! It's always fun to watch the students work as a team.

This week in Math we are starting Topic 12~Decimals. Spelling will cover the rule of Inflectional endings to words ending in -y. Word study is learning about Main Idea/Details and Sequencing. Science is studying the Galaxy and Social Studies is studying Voyagers.

Thursday is PTA Bingo and Pizza Night!!!
