Global Project

MLE is starting our annual global service project. A baggie with a note will be going home with every child K-6th grade on Wed., Jan. 27th. Students are asked to bring in change or dollars to put toward this project.
We have a friendly competition going on...with each grade level trying to bring in more money than the others. The winning grade will get a small treat at the end of March.
Our plan is to start the coin/dollar collection this week, then in February we will host a BUBBLE GUM day where kids can bring gum to school and chew it after they pay .50 cents (date to be determined) then in March we will have a HAT DAY where kids can wear a hat in school if they pay $1.00.
ALL of this money will go towards helping send kids in Haiti to school. For every 50.00 we collect, one child is able to attend school.

This week we are learning about...Math~ Topic 9 Patterns and Relationships, Word Study~ Long a Patterns in Accented Syllables, Social Studies~ Wild West, and Science~ Fossils. Parent teacher conference slips went home on Friday. If the date and time does not work for your schedule, please let me know asap and I will do my best to accomodate your request. January 26 and 28th are conference dates. We are also putting a basket(s) together for our Arts & Activity Night in March. I sent a letter home with more information. If you could help donate to either the Art or Movie basket (or both??), that would be greatly appreciaited. We are collecting coins for Haiti. Our goal is to collect as many coins as possible to send kids in Haiti to school that don't have that option right now. Any amount helps...
Thank you for all your support with our school activities!!!
