Families,

I have to start with how proud I am of these students!!! They worked so hard on the MCA tests!! Grades 3, 5, and 6 are still testing, so the building is still pretty quiet.  Final scores will be sent to you in the fall.

I can't wait until the sun shines everyday!! I want to go outside with the class and play! In the mean time, we will continue to learn in the classroom. Social Studies and Science are finishing their topics this week and next.  Reading skills will finish Figurative Language and then begin Main Idea. Math is going to begin Measuring by Length, Capacity, and Weight. Have a wonderful week!!

We have DARE on Tues. this week as we are testing Math on Wed. and Thurs. We also have Late Start this Friday. Right now it looks like Track and Field day will be May 21. Final plans are still in the works. As soon as we know the final details, you will be informed. The alternate will be May 25. There will be no spelling or reading comprehension this week. Please continue to read each night and do a reading menu option. Science is continuing with Planet Earth, Soc. St. is continuing with Pioneers, and Reading Skills will go over Figurative Language.

Get some good rest on Tuesday and Wednesday!!

Plenty of April showers....bring on the sun!!!  We will have our Math MCA next week on Apr. 21-22. This week is a lot of reviewing! Keep working on that Math packet if you still have it!!! I am so proud of my class for taking their time on the reading MCA!! Those (final) scores will not come out until this fall. You will get a mailing, with teacher letters, that will have your child's MCA information. This assessment checks to see if your student is working/learning at grade level skills. Again, so proud of my class and their PATIENCE during the Reading test. I hope they do just as well for Math. I am sure they will :) Science continues with Planets, Soc. St. continues with Pioneers, and Reading Skills is going over Theme. Spelling is working with silent letters.  I am so impressed with the questions the class is asking our DARE Officer!! Very appropriate and meaningful. This group is AWESOME!!! I want them again next year!!  Have a wonderful week!!!

I hope you had a great weekend!! We have our Reading MCA Monday and Tuesday. Breakfast will be served free of charge for the students testing. We eat at 8:30 and test after breakfast. Please be sure your child gets a good nights sleep. Also, return chrome books and chargers so we can practice math next. April is Autism awareness month. Wear blue every Friday!!
